Chittoor is a very famous place in india.it is also known as Chittur and It is in the state Andhra Pradesh.It is conviniently located on major highways linking Bangalore and Chennai.Chittoor lies on the banks of the river Ponnai at the southernmost part of Andhra Pradesh. the area of Chittoor district is 15,359 km², and the population is 2,267,769 as in the 1991 census.it is bounded by Anantapur District to the northwest, Cuddapah District to the north side, Nellore District to the northeast side, Vellore and Tiruvallur districts of Tamil Nadu state to the south, and Karnataka state to the southeast. The city is strategically located at the junction of Bangalore-Chennai national highway. The town is very much famous for Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple which is located in IRALA Mandal and in addition, the district is known for Tirupati, and Sri Kalahasti temples. Chittoor's culture is the combination of the states Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.Chittoor is famous for its striking monuments, wildlife sanctuaries and cultural festivals. Chittoor is also a center for grain, mangos, sugarcane, and peanuts.these are exported to other states of the country.
